1. Matchy Matchy
A lot of catwalks showcased matching scarves and dresses intertwined together. Temperley London especially followed this trend with a number of scarves in similar patterns to the dresses they were worn with. This is an ideal trend for this time of year, the scarf adds much needed warmth, but matching it to your dress or top shows a keen mind for style. This truly is style AND substance.

2. Geometry
Geometric patterns were also a keen trend at London Fashion Week. A number of designers chose to showcase geometric patterns or origami geometry on their garments, including;
Christopher Kane
Jonathan Saunders
3. Royal Blue
Royal blue has been a popular colour throughout New York Fashion Week & has also been a popular colour at London Fashion Week. Royal blue is a flattering colour for nearly every shape and thus everyone and can also be paired with a number of other colours and patterns, so enjoy its versatility and embrace it.

4. Layers
Layering has been a popular trend for the last few years, and it has made an appearance on the catwalk again this year. Christopher Bailey at Burberry took the layering idea to a whole new level, by swamping his petite models in numerous layers. Although, we may not want to parade down the high-street in this many layers, this trend can easily be simplified for everyday wear.

5. Blacks & Greys
Alongside the bright blues was also much darker blacks and greys. Again anyone can pull off black because it is an easy colour to dress up and down and will suit any shape and size. An LBD (little black dress) is an item everyone should have in their wardrobe because it will constantly be in style.

So there we have it, the five key trends of London Fashion Week AW14 that can be simplified into everyday wear. They are trends that we can take and make our own and develop for the colder months. They may be Autumn/Winter trends but lets face it here in the UK we never really have a 'summer' and so these trends will be ideal for us, almost everyday of the year.
