The Olivier Awards 2015

Last night was the Olivier Awards The Olivier Awards are presented annually by the Society of London Theatre to recognise excellence in professional theatre. Originally known as the Society of West End Theatre Awards, they were renamed in honour of British actor, Laurence Olivier, in 1984.

It is also a chance for stars of the screen and stage to get together and wear some fabulous dresses. It's been quite a while since we've had a black-tie awards ceremony, so The Olivier Awards were a much welcome event. 

This year the awards were held at the Royal Opera House. It is a stunning backdrop for any event...

This year it seemed that black was the order of the day. Gemma Arterton, Nicole Scherzinger,  Laura Carmichael, Pixie Lott, Gillian Anderson, Amanda Abbington and Camilla Kerslake all wore stunning black gowns.

Adding some much needed colour into the event was Kimberley Walsh in Halston Heritage and Diana Argon in a bridal-style gown embellished with pearls.
